Camden County Master Plan
Group Melvin Design was hired by Camden County and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission to both update the County’s 1972 Land Use Plan Element and create a comprehensive Master Plan for the County.
This project recently concluded the public engagement phase, which included both traditional outreach methods, as well as several new outreach techniques to reach nearly 1,000 respondents from across Camden County. These included a web-based survey formatted for both desktop and mobile devices and an interactive project website.
We are now engaged in writing the draft of the Land Use Element and Master Plan, which incorporates a methodology for integrating local priorities, goals, and objectives into the State Planning Commission’s new approach to regional planning, as outlined in the 2012 draft State Strategic Plan. The Land Use Element is anticipated to serve as a guide to coordinate a unified land planning vision across the County’s 37 municipalities, with a combined population of over half a million residents.
